Privacy policy

Effective · Executive Function (e-f) is a personal project run by Tracy Apps.

The short version

e-f stores what you put in it, keeps it to itself, and never sells or shares it. Sign-in happens through Google so no passwords are handled here. The details below are the whole story — there is no fine print hiding underneath them.

What e-f stores when you sign in

When you sign in with Google, e-f keeps your name, email address, and profile picture so your workspace knows who you are. Beyond that, it stores the things you create in it: tasks, events, capture notes, lists, and your settings.

If you connect Google Calendar

e-f can read and update calendar events — only on the calendars you choose, only while the connection stays enabled. Disconnecting it stops all calendar access.

If you use the mail hygiene tools

e-f keeps a record of which senders were filtered and the subject lines of quarantined messages, so the review screen can show you what happened. It never stores the contents of your email, and your mail account passwords never leave your own computer — they are not sent to e-f's servers at all.

Where your data lives

Workspace data is stored in a hosted Postgres database (Neon) and served through Vercel. Your browser keeps a local cached copy of your workspace so the app works offline-first. Text you submit for AI capture or breakdown is sent to Anthropic's API to be processed; it is not used to train anything by e-f.

Cookies and tracking

e-f sets one cookie: the session cookie that keeps you signed in. There are no analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies of any kind.

SMS/Text Messaging

If you link a phone number to your Executive Function account, we use it to send and receive text messages related to your account activity. Message frequency varies with your use of the app. Message and data rates may apply. We do not share your mobile number with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. Reply STOP to opt out of messages, or HELP for assistance.

What e-f will never do

Sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to train anything. Your workspace is yours; shared household items are visible only to the people you invited.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your data is kept until you delete it in the app or ask for your account to be removed. Deleting your account removes your workspace with it.
